- The National Telecommunications Regulatory Commission is in receipt of this notice
from ECTEL for an extension of the period for initial comments on the submission from
ECTEL to the National Telecommunications Regulatory Commissions on the following
Regulatory Instruments:- Market Assessment of Regulated and Unregulated Retail Services and
Proposed Recommended Measures for Retail Services in the ECTEL Member
States. - Proposed changes to Regulation 17(c) of the draft Electronic Communications
(Consumer Protection) Regulations (Specific Rules on Consumer Protection in the
Electronic Communications Sector).
- Market Assessment of Regulated and Unregulated Retail Services and
- Appreciating that the consultation document was relatively extensive, ECTEL proposed
an initial period for comment of six weeks. - Recognizing the importance of the proposed new Regulatory Instruments to the
effective regulation of retail tariffs, to promoting a competitive market environment and
to enhancing consumer protection, ECTEL encourages all stakeholders to provide their
comments on the proposed new Regulatory Instruments. - Noting the interest expressed, and considering requests received thus far during this
consultation, ECTEL has decided that the deadline for submission of initial comments be
extended to Friday 30th October 2020 to allow interested parties more time to submit
comments. - The period for reply comments will now run from Wednesday 4th November 2020 to Friday 20th November 2020.
- All responses to the Consultation Documents or correspondence in relation to this
